Eastman Kodak Completes Danish Acquisition

Company bought Intermate A/S, which makes products helping customers print out bills and invoices, to gain a foothold in the transaction printing market.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) -- Eastman Kodak Co. bought Intermate A/S, which makes products helping customers print out bills and invoices, to gain a foothold in the transaction printing market, the company said Thursday.

Kodak did not say how much it paid for Intermate.

Founded in 1976 and headquartered in Birkerod, Denmark, Intermate makes hardware and software that printer manufacturers install in printers. These products enable the customers that buy the printers to print bills, receipts and other items used in transactions.

Kodak expects Intermate's expertise in intelligent printer data stream systems, which link print systems through a network, to fortify the company's place in the transaction printing market.

''Kodak continued to see significant growth opportunities in the transactional print marketplace,'' Kodak President Philip J. Faraci said in a statement.
