Boeing Gets $1 Billion 737 Order

Airplane maker received an order for 17 next-generation 737 airplanes valued at more than $1 billion from jet leasing company Aviation Capital Group.

SEATTLE (AP) -- Airplane maker Boeing Co. said Monday it received an order for 17 next-generation 737 airplanes valued at more than $1 billion from jet leasing company Aviation Capital Group.
 
Boeing said the new planes will be equipped with ''Blended Winglets'' which improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 4 percent.
 
Including the 17 new planes, Boeing said Aviation Capital Group has ordered a total of 81 Boeing planes.
 
Boeing shares fell 1 cent to $78.65 in electronic premarket trading. The shares closed at $78.66 Friday.
