NEW YORK — Conditions for New York manufacturers continued to deteriorate in March. The general business conditions index fell 10.5 points to -22.2.
New orders rose slightly to -4.7 as shipments edged down to -5.2. Unfilled orders remained little changed at 1.1.
Prices paid rose for the third consecutive month to 50.1, but prices received declined to 15.7.
Employment indexes remained close to zero.
Future indexes were generally positive and up slightly for the month. The future employment indexes rebounded after falling steeply in February.
