LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Johnson Controls is moving some work to Mexico and laying off more than 100 workers at a Georgetown plant.
Company spokeswoman Monica Levy says the manufacture of automotive armrests and headrests will be going to a plant in Saltillo, Mexico.
Levy says two local Johnson Controls plants will continue to make seat and seat back cushions for customers that include the Georgetown Toyota plant.
The layoffs are scheduled to begin in March and will affect 108 of the 375 employees at the company's foam plant. Levy says none of the 260 employees of the seat plant will be affected.
