Hewlett-Packard To Buy NUR Macroprinters

HP agrees to pay $117.5 million for Israel-based NUR Macroprinters Ltd., maker of industrial wide-format digital inkjet printers.

PALO ALTO, Calif. (AP) — Hewlett-Packard Co. said Monday it agreed to buy Israel-based NUR Macroprinters Ltd., a maker of industrial wide-format digital inkjet printers, for $117.5 million.

HP, the world's largest technology company by revenue, said the deal will expand its graphic arts portfolio of digital presses and wide-format printers. NUR's printers are used by commercial printing companies, sign and screen printers, billboard makers and photo labs.

HP said $14.5 million of the purchase price will be held in an indemnity escrow account. The deal is expected to close when it clears regulatory approvals.

In September, HP agreed to buy MacDermid ColorSpan Inc., another maker of wide-format digital inkjet printers, for an undisclosed sum.
