HOUSTON (AP) — Cooper Industries Ltd., which makes and sells electrical products and tools, on Tuesday said it acquired Illinois-based GS Metals and United Kingdom-based Clarity Lighting for a combined $49 million.
GS Metals makes customized metal safety grating systems, bolted framing and cable tray systems, while Clarity designs and makes light-emitting diode architectural lighting and control systems, Cooper said.
The two companies are expected to post combined 2007 sales of about $55 million, Cooper said.
Cooper shares fell 32 cents to $55 in early trading.
