Regulators Want More Info On SABMiller, Molson Coors

Antitrust regulators requested the information as part of a review of the brewers' plans to combine operations in the United States and Puerto Rico.

DENVER (AP) — Antitrust regulators requested further information from SABMiller PLC and Molson Coors Brewing Co. as part of a review of the brewers' plans to combine their U.S. operations, the companies said Tuesday.

The Department of Justice request extends the review period to 30 days after the companies comply with the request.

SABMiller and Molson Coors, which are working on combining the Miller and Coors brewing operations in the United States and Puerto Rico, characterized the request as ''normal and customary.'' They still expect to close the deal by the middle of next year.
