ATLANTA (AP) — A Portuguese company soon will be calling Georgia home.
EFACEC Group plans to build its first U.S. plant in Effingham County, creating 600 jobs and $100 million in investment. Gov. Sonny Perdue and state economic development officials made the announcement today at the state Capitol.
Based in Porto, Portugal, EFACEC manufactures power substations. The new facility will make core form, shell form and mobile substations for the United States market.
Company officials expect to break ground on the plant this winter.
