CLEVELAND (AP) — Polymer materials maker PolyOne Corp. said Wednesday it agreed to buy materials supplier GLS Corp.
PolyOne did not disclose financial terms of the deal.
Privately held GLS of McHenry, Ill., makes thermoplastic elastomer compounds, rubber-like materials used in consumer and medical applications. The company had revenue of about $130 million in the past year.
PolyOne said GLS products give toothbrush handles a softer touch, provide a better grip for electronic devices, create a stronger seal for food and drinks packaging, and enhance the flexibility of medical tubing systems.
PolyOne expects the deal to add to earnings in the first year.
