GE Aviation Wins $10B In Orders At Dubai Airshow

To meet demand for its GEnx engines, GE will expand jet engine production rates by more than 50 percent in the next three years.

CINCINNATI — GE Aviation announced is received a total of $10 billion in product and service orders at the Dubai Airshow.
 
“The combined $10 billion in orders shows the tremendous demand for our advanced engine technology and services,” said Scott Donnelly, president and chief executive officer of GE Aviation. “Our knowledge of this market and relationships in the Middle East have been extremely valuable.”
 
To date, GE has sold more than 1,100 GEnx engines, making it the company’s fastest-selling high-thrust engine. To meet the demand, GE will expand jet engine production rates by more than 50 percent in the next three years.
 
Among the orders GE Aviation received are:
  • $1.4 billion deal for an overhaul of Saudi Arabian Airlines’ support services on the GE90, CF6 and CF34 engines.
  • $770 million worth of GE90-115B engines to power 10 Boeing 777-300ER and GEnx engines for five Boeing 747-8 freighters for Dubai Aerospace.
  • 12-year service contract for maintenance, overhaul and repair of GEnx engines for 12 Boeing 787s for Royal Jordanian.
  • $1.2 billion worth of engines for Qatar Airways’ 30 Boeing 787s and five Boeing 777 freighters.
