CAT Acquisitions Strengthen Forestry Position

In separate transactions, CAT acquires Blount International's forestry division as well as the transition of Pioneer Machinery assets to six CAT dealers.

PEORIA, Ill. — Caterpillar Inc. announced it is acquiring Blount International's Forestry Division.

In a separate transaction, six CAT dealers agreed to acquire certain assets of Pioneer Machinery Inc., a distributor of forestry products in the southeastern U.S.

The transaction is expected to be finalized after the parties conduct a due diligence process. The transition of Pioneer's commercial operations to the respective CAT dealers will begin as soon as definitive agreements are completed.

Under the agreement with Blount, CAT will acquire two manufacturing facilities. Those operations will join CAT's global facilities that produce and support forestry equipment.
