BMW's October Global Sales Rise

World's biggest manufacturer of luxury cars says sales reached 123,304 units, up 13.2 percent compared with last year.

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — BMW AG, the world's biggest maker of luxury cars, said Thursday that its global sales in October rose 13.2 percent compared with last year.
 
The Munich, Germany-based company, whose brands include BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce, sold 123,304 cars, compared with 108,897 in October 2006.
 
From January to October, the company said it sold 1.2 million cars, up 7.8 percent from the 1.1 million it delivered in the first 10 months of 2006.
 
The biggest sales increases in the first 10 months of 2007 were recorded by the new versions of the BMW 3 Series Coupe and Cabrio and the BMW X5.
 
Shares of BMW were up 0.1 percent to euro41.60 (US$61.24) in Frankfurt.
