GLENVIEW, Ill. (AP) — Industrial-products maker Illinois Tool Works Inc. said Thursday it bought Avery Berkel, a supplier of weighing equipment for the food industry, for an undisclosed amount.
U.K.-based Avery Berkel, a business unit of Avery Weigh-Tronix, will become part of Illinois Tool's existing food equipment group and will continue to operate under the Avery Berkel brand name.
The acquisition expands the footprint of Illinois Tool's food equipment business in Europe, the company said.
