Canadian Auto Parts Manufacturer’s Expansion Creates 300 New Jobs

Expansion will add significant new production capacity to the plant, which currently produces air-conditioning units for major car companies.

GUELPH, Ont. (CP) - A Guelph, Ontario auto parts manufacturer says it will create 300 new jobs by 2010 in a major expansion.

Denso Manufacturing Canada Inc. said Wednesday its local plant will nearly triple in size and the facility's workforce will eventually double to about 600. Construction is expected to be completed by September 2008, with production slated to start January 2009.

Company president Joe Stich said the expansion will add significant new production capacity to the plant, which currently produces air-conditioning units for major car companies. Radiators, condensers and electric fans will be manufactured in the added space and will be integrated into modules meant to cool car engines.
