FORT VALLEY, Ga. - The Blue Bird Corp announced Tuesday that it will be relocating production of its Micro Bird Type A bus line from Brantford, Ontario, to Fort Valley, Georgia.
The Canadian plant, Canadian Blue Bird Coach, Ltd., will close, effective August 10, 2007.
Established in 1958, Blue Bird’s Canadian operations have been producing bus products for the past 49 years.
The company said the relocation will allow centralization of all of its school bus line production in Georgia, enabling efficiencies in areas including resource allocation and parts sourcing. The Micro Bird line’s location next to the main engineering center will also allow for more efficient product change implementation.
