Hamilton Sundstrand To Acquire Precision Engine Controls

Precision Engine Controls has 125 employees at San Diego, Calif. facility.

Hamilton Sundstrand, a manufacturer of advanced aerospace and industrial products and a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp., announced Tuesday its acquisition of Precision Engine Controls Corp. (PECC), a supplier of industrial and marine engine controls and services.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

PECC, headquartered in San Diego, Calif., supplies valves, electric actuators and control systems for use in gas turbines in the energy and marine business segments, and has about 125 employees people at its San Diego operations.

The acquisition will be added to Hamilton Sundstrand's engine systems business, according to Joseph E. Triompo, president of Hamilton Sundstrand Engine & Control Systems unit.

Hamilton Sundstrand, based in Windsor Locks, Conn., had revenues of $5 billion in 2006 and employs about 17,000 people worldwide.
