Cooper Industries Will Acquire Quebec's Cybectec

Cybectec, a provider of hardware and software systems for updating automation systems in utilities, will become part of Cooper Power Systems.

Cooper Industries, Ltd., a manufacturer of electrical products, announced Monday its acquisition of Cybectec, Inc., a provider of hardware and software systems for updating automation systems in utilities, headquartered in Saint-Jean-Chrysostome, Quebec, Canada.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
 
Cybectec which had revenues of $8.5 million in the past 12 months, will become part of the Cooper Power Systems division of Cooper Industries.

The acquisition will allow Cooper Power Systems to expand its capability to provide customers with enterprise-wide solutions with secure access to operational and non-operational electrical system data.

This acquisition is in addition to Cooper's recently announced acquisition of Cannon Technologies, Inc., as part of Cooper's technology investments to broaden its range of energy automation capabilities. Canon provides monitoring, metering and energy management systems for utilities.
