Nissan North America, Inc. on Wednesday reported sales of 75,095 units in October, an 8.1 percent increase from the prior year. Nissan Division sales increased by 9.6 percent over last year and the Infiniti Division had a sales decrease of -1.8 percent over last year.
The Nissan Division’s October sales totaled 65,689 units, versus the 62,317 units last year. October sales for Infiniti were 9,406 units, down from last year’s 9,962 units.
Ford Motor Co. said Wednesday that its U.S. sales rose 8 percent in October, thanks mostly to brisk sales of cars. DaimlerChrysler AG said its sales dropped 1.6 percent due mainly to a slump at the U.S.-based Chrysler Group.
Ford said Wednesday that Ford, Lincoln and Mercury inventories were estimated at 622,000 at the end of October – 107,000 units lower than a year ago and 30,000 units lower than at the end of September.
