Chevron Unveils New Synthetic Transmission Fluids For Heavy-Duty Market

The Chevron Delo Synthetic Transmission Fluid SAE 50 and Texaco Syn-Star SAE 50 meet the major OEM’s performance requirements for extended drain and warranty.

Chevron Products Co. announced Thursday that it is introducing two new premium synthetic transmission fluids designed for the heavy-duty manual transmission market. Both products meet the Eaton Fuller PS-164 Rev 7 specification.

Available as Chevron Delo Synthetic Transmission Fluid SAE 50 and Texaco Syn-Star TL SAE 50, the new synthetic fluids meet and exceed the major OEM’s performance requirements for extended drain and warranty and offer reduced component wear and potential fuel economy improvements for commercial transportation and construction markets.

Both fluids are specifically formulated high viscosity and low pour point synthetic lubricants that provide year-round performance. In cold weather shifting, this formulation lubricates transmission parts quickly, resulting in less gear wear and drag, Chevron said.

In addition, both fluids promote longer transmission life, protect bearings and synchronizers to reduce component wear, reduce maintenance costs and lessen downtime and are backed by the Chevron Delo and Texaco Bumper-to-Bumper Lubricants Warranty.
