HOUSTON (AP) - Construction and engineering contractor Willbros Group Inc. said Monday that it received multiple contracts worth more than $300 million.
The company's Willbros Engineers Inc. unit received an engineering and construction pact for Guardian Pipeline LLC's expansion and extension project. Under the plan, which will construct 106 miles of natural gas pipeline from a site in Wisconsin to the Green Bay area, Willbros will work on eight meter stations and two compressor stations. The construction is expected to start in May 2008 and be completed by the following November. Guardian Pipeline is wholly owned by subsidiaries of ONEOK Partners LP, the company said.
Willbros Engineers also received a contract from Overland Pass Pipeline Co. to provide routing, environmental studies and regulatory filing services for a 750-mile pipeline from Wyoming to Kansas. The project, which is 99 percent owned by ONEOK Partners, is expected to be running in 2008.
Under a third pact, effective Feb. 1 next year, Willbros will provide Cheniere Sabine Pass Pipeline Co. with management, engineering, material procurement, and construction services for a 16-mile pipeline and related facilities in Cameron Parish, La. Construction is scheduled to start next April and be completed that September.
Willbros RPI Inc., the company's U.S. construction unit, received a preliminary agreement from CenterPoint Energy to install 71 miles of natural gas pipeline in North Louisiana. The work is expected to start in October and run through Feb. 1 next year. Willbros RPI also received a project to construct a 10-inch Dixie pipeline project near Erwinville, La., for Dow Chemical Co.
Construction began in May and is scheduled for completion in the third quarter.
In addition, the Oman Construction Co., in Muscat, Oman, was picked for additional maintenance activities and small capital projects for Occidental of Oman Inc. The project, which is expected to take three to five years, has an option for an additional one to two years.
