Stora Enso To Close Two Mills

Company cites lack of profitability for closings.

Stora Enso announced Wednesday that it will close its Reisholz Mill Germany and Berghuizer Mill in the Netherlands due to a lack of profitability.

The Reisholz Mill is part of Stora Enso’s Publication Paper division and is expected to close by the end of 2007. The close will affect 378 employees.

The Burghuizer Mill is part of Stora Enso’s Fine Paper division and will be closed during 2007. There will be 297 employees affected by its closure.

Customers from the two mills will be supplied from Stora Enso’s other mills following the closures.
