Northrop Grumman Corporation is sending a total of 43 engineering staff members to 20 Chicago-area schools as part of the nationwide outreach program, Discover Engineering (Discovery "E").

The annual Discovery "E" campaign is an educational initiative to expose students at all levels to engineering as a way to spark an interest in math and science-related careers. The volunteers spend the day demonstrating to students how math and science skills are used in engineering careers.

In addition to time spent with students, Northrop Grumman is donating $500 to each participating school to support their math and science curricula.

The program is part of Northrop Grumman's co-sponsorship, with the Society of Women Engineers, of National Engineers Week 2006.
