Colbert Packaging Corporation Receives Forgivable Loan

Colbert Packaging Corporation announced Wednesday that it will continue to operate in ElkhartCounty, IN

An Elkhart company proves it has staying power in Michiana, IN.

Colbert Packaging Corporation announced Wednesday that it will continue to operate in Elkhart County, thanks to a small incentive package.

The cardboard box manufacturing company received a $100,000 forgivable loan from the city. Colbert was also given some training grants and tax incentives from the state.

"This is a great Christmas present to the citizens of Elkhart and to the employees of Colbert Packaging. They came in from Illinois, bought this business. It looked like they might have to move to Illinois, and instead of moving, they brought more business here. They're going to employ more residents of Elkhart and invest more money here," says Elkhart Mayor David Miller.

Wes Mcowen, employee of Colbert Packaging said, "I think it's a good thing that our mayor decided to get involved and the state of Indiana is also getting involved in this. It's a good way to help out the community."
