Shiner International To Supply Anti-Counterfeit Films

Manufacturing.Net - March 10, 2008

HAINAN, China — Shiner International, Inc. has announced it has signed a total of $6.71 million anti-counterfeit plastic films supply contracts with various domestic and international customers for 2008 product delivery.

According to Shiner, the new orders are represented by the largest tobacco company in Vietnam, the largest printing firms in Turkey and Israel, and a Shanghai based media company.

Anti-counterfeit film is a specialty product created to help control piracy, a major concern in China as well as internationally. Piracy and counterfeit products have resulted in both significant losses to manufacturers and health problems to consumers on a global basis.

The common technology used today relies on holograms; however, Shiner has applied a proprietary technology to develop specialized anti-counterfeiting film products. It is a BOPP film embossed with a high technology, multi-dimensional insignia that creates eye-catching illusions, which also helps increase brand identity.
