MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) -- Lockheed Martin Corp. said Wednesday it received a $156 million contract for work on Canadian military aircraft.

Under the contract, Lockheed will provide new outer wings, stabilizers and other parts to extend the lifetimes of 10 Canadian CP-140 Aurora aircraft.

Lockheed said the work will provide, on average, an additional 20 to 25 years of service life for Orion and Aurora fleets and reduce maintenance costs.

Other customers for Lockheed's refresh kits have included the Royal Norwegian Air Force, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the U.S. Navy. A proposal for Taiwan's P-3 aircraft fleet is in the works, Lockheed said.

Shares of the Bethesda, Md.-based company fell 72 cents to $72.40 in midday trading.
