SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (AP) — General Electric Co. said Thursday it has received a second wind-turbine contract worth more than $1 billion from Invenergy Wind LLC for wind-power projects in North America.

 

GE will supply Invenergy with wind turbines that can generate 750 megawatts worth of power per year. That's enough energy for more than 200,000 households, GE said. GE expects the projects to be constructed in 2010.

 

GE announced a similar agreement with Invenergy in January, also worth more than $1 billion, to provide wind turbines projects to be built in 2009 in the U.S. and Europe.

 

GE shares fell 42 cents to $33.25 in morning trading.
