VICTORVILLE, Calif. -- The City of Victorville’s Economic Development Department announced that Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. has selected Victorville as the location for its new Western manufacturing and distribution hub, serving California and parts of the Southwest. 

The $120 million, 850,000-square-foot facility will be developed at Southern California Logistics Airport (SCLA) in Victorville, joining other notable tenants including Newell Rubbermaid and GE Transportation.

To accommodate the unique needs of the beverage industry, the City will construct a new $30 million treatment plant capable of safely treating and discharging its industrial strength wastewater.  Additionally, the City is planning approximately $6 million in new roads and infrastructure for the DPS facility.

“Victorville quickly became the obvious choice,” said Larry Young, president and CEO of Dr Pepper Snapple Group.  “In addition to its pro-business policies and incentives, the city’s location within Southern California and its access to major interstates and railways will provide us the ability to serve our customers much more efficiently and allow us to grow our business in the region.”

The DPS facility is expected to provide 200 new jobs and tap into the region’s diverse labor force -- 60 percent of whom commute out of the area for work. Additionally, the facility will offer manufacturing jobs which are generally higher paying and require extensive training and skill.

SCLA is an 8,500-acre master-planned commercial and industrial development located at the former site of George Air Force Base.
