ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- 3M Co. said Thursday it acquired Polyfoam Products Inc., which makes foam adhesives for tile roofing.
Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.
3M said the acquisition will broaden its offerings of industrial adhesives.
Polyfoam's technology is an alternative to fastening tiles with nails or screws, which produce puncture holes. The company also makes canisters and spray guns for installers.
Tomball, Texas-based Polyfoam employs about 35 people.
Shares of 3M rose $1.70, or 2.4 percent, to $72.42 in afternoon trading.
